Psalm 105:32-106:30

Chapter 105
32 He gave them hail for rain, flames of fire throughout their land. 33 He struck their vines and fig trees, and he broke the trees of their borders. 34 He spoke, and locusts came and caterpillars without number. 35 And it ate every herb of their land and ate the fruit of their land. 36 He struck every firstborn in their land, the firstfruit of all their strength. 37 And he brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none stumbling in his tribes. 38 Egypt rejoiced at their going out, for their fear fell upon them. 39 He spread a cloud as a screen and fire to shine through the night. 40 He asked for it, and it came—his quail—and with the bread of the heavens he satisfied them. 41 He opened the rock, and waters flowed; they walked in the desert—a river. 42 For he remembered his holy word with Abraham his servant. 43 And he brought his chosen ones out with him in joy, with a ringing cry. 44 He gave them the lands of nations, and they inherited the toil of peoples. 45 For the sake of his covenant they keep his statutes and preserve his Torah—Praise Jah.

Chapter 106
1 Hallelujah. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. 2 Who will recount the mighty deeds of the LORD? Who will make all his praise heard. 3 Blessed are those who keep justice, who do righteousness at all times. 4 Remember me, LORD, in the favor you show your people; visit me with your salvation. 5 to see the good of your chosen ones, to rejoice in the joy of your nation, to glory with your inheritance. 6 We have sinned with our fathers; we have committed perverse acts; we have acted wickedly. 7 Our fathers in Egypt did not understand your wonders, did not remember your many acts of steadfast love, and rebelled at the Sea, the Sea of Reeds. 8 He saved them for the sake of his name, to make known his might. 9 He rebuked the Sea of Reeds, cut it off, and led them through the deeps like a wilderness. 10 And he saved them from the hand of the hater and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. 11 And the waters covered their enemies; not one of them was left. 12 And they believed his words; they sang his praise. 13 They soon forgot his deeds and did not wait for his counsel. 14 And they desired a desire in the wilderness, and they tested God in the wasteland. 15 And he gave them their request and sent leanness into their vital life force. 16 They were jealous of Moses in the camp, of Aaron, the holy one of the LORD. 17 The earth opened and swallowed Dathan and covered the company of Abiram. 18 Fire burned in their assembly; a flame blazed against the wicked. 19 They made a calf in Horeb and prostrated themselves to a molten image. 20 They exchanged their glory for the form of an ox that eats grass. 21 They forgot God their savior, who had done great things in Egypt. 22 Wonders in the land of Ham, awesome deeds upon the Sea of Reeds. 23 And he said to destroy them—had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to turn back his wrath from destroying. 24 They rejected the desirable land; they did not believe his word. 25 And they murmured in their tents; they did not obey the voice of the LORD. 26 And he raised his hand to them to make them fall in the wilderness. 27 And to make their seed fall among nations and to scatter them in lands. 28 They clung to Baal Peor and ate sacrifices of the dead. 29 They provoked him with their evil deeds, and a plague broke out against them. 30 Phinehas stood up and interceded, and the plague stopped.
